Have You Noticed?
One might say that we are constantly going through a process: A process called life. And for the most part, it seems
to be a natural process. As we get older, have you noticed how time appears to be passing faster than it did when
we were younger. Wherever you are in your life, be it young, middle-aged or elderly, have you noticed as time
passes and circumstances change, so do our priorities, interests, goals, etc. Those things that were once important
to us might not be at the top of our priority list anymore. Yet, on the flip side, there are other things in life that have
become much more important to us.
Have you noticed, life is somewhat like a roller coaster. Some things that we experience in life can be both
wonderful, yet so painful. At times we have the opportunity to experience the excitement and beauty of the
mountaintops, and then without notice, we crash on the rocks on the way down to the valley. For example, the birth
of a child stirs emotions within us and allows us to dream about their future, yet we also worry about their wellbeing.
The death of a loved one sometimes causes us to morn and be depressed, yet as we look back on their lives , we
realize how blessed we were just to have known them. The Lord allows us to experience both the mountaintops and
the valleys in order to make us stronger and help us endure life's challenges.
We have heard people say, “Savor the moment”, “Stop and smell roses”, “There’s no time like the present”, “There’s
no guarantee that we’ll have tomorrow“, Live each day to the fullest”. There’s truth of these statements, and with
the Lord’s help, we’ve got to keep on keeping on and start noticing more, the blessings that He provides for us daily
as we travel through this process called life.
Remember, our Lord never changes, He’s always the same, never wavering, and He is always there for us. Have
you noticed?
